How you can help your child
Encourage them to use the English Curriculum pages on the SLG, particularly the GCSE Revision pages.
Help them to learn corrections of spellings that have been highlighted in their work by their teacher.
Look together at the targets for improvement that their teacher has set.
Encourage them to read widely - not just fiction but non-fiction such as newspapers, magazine articles, information texts and web pages.
Remind them to be a critical reader - for example, how are they being persuaded by a piece of writing?
