Careers: Planning your Future
Dorothy Stringer has a well-established and evaluated careers, information, advice and guidance programme. Full details are outlined in our Careers Policy.
At present, we are working to develop our careers inspiration activities, providing further opportunities for our students to meet people from the world of work, education and training. This is in addition to the Year 10 work experience, Take Your Child to Work in Year 9, visiting speakers from industry and higher education, enterprise and curriculum-led activities that already take place. We liaise with education and training providers and arrange opportunities for them to speak with students about approved technical qualification and apprenticeships during PSHE lessons and assemblies after school events. Education and training providers are also invited to run small group workshops and dedicated after school events.
Ms Emerson oversees information, advice and guidance delivery in the school and is always interested to hear from members of the school community and local employers who would be willing to contribute to careers talks or skills workshops.
